Notes: A literal translation of the title is "transit evening," and is used to refer to the Japanese equivalent of a wake. I'm sure it's a clumsy misuse of the word, but the idea of a nocturnal transition includes many possibilities other than that of death.
This story assumes familiarity with (and contains spoilers for) the anime series, and takes place approximately three years following the events of the Kyoto arc, for which there are spoilers aplenty.
