    • Discovered that the main fanfiction page, the fanfiction pairing page and the 40-odd individual author pages weren't displaying correctly at higher resolutions. Inserted script to fix this.
    • Made minor adaptations to the layouts of "Something Normal", "Devastation" and "The Birthday Present" so that they *should* all display correctly in screen resolutions up to 1600x1200.
    • Created a new template for future fic pages so that I don't have to bother designing layouts for each fic in future.  Yeah, I know, the design is very "my first webpage" in it's style and simplicity, but the intention is that this layout is clear, easy-to-read and should work in most browsers and screen resolutions.  I've added a DHTML menu to the border of the template - just hover your mouse over the menu button and down pops a list of KatCom's various sections.  Hopefully.  Do tell me if this menu doesn't work for you - but in case it doesn't, I've left the old navigation links at the bottom of the page.  (And no, they're not buttons, they're just text links styled with CSS.)

    • Contents page revamped! Same basic images and colour scheme, much more compact layout and hopefully a lot easier to navigate without endless scrolling!

      • The link to the updates page is now in button form on the left-hand side, and I've added a "Contact Us" button.
      • Most of the text on the page is now in an iframe with dark text on light background, and should be easier to read.
      • To save much scrolling to find things, the iframe contains links to its various contents.
      • NEW!! We have an FAQ! Don't go scrolling to find it - just hit the link and it opens in a separate window!
      • I've used a shadow effect on the title image - if the use of this kind of filter (eg glow or shadow) does funky things to your browser, please let me know and I'll rectify the matter!
      • Be warned that the page will be a little slower loading than before, but it shouldn't be too bad.

    • Updates page also revamped (as you can see)!   Hopefully it will be a *lot* easier to read!  If, for some reason, you don't see a lilac box with text in it either here or on the contents page, your browser does not support iframes.  If you can upgrade your browser to a more recent version, great; if you can't, email us. I'm considering creating "KatCom Lite", a plain, text-only version of the site if there is a need for it.

    • The Fanfiction page has now been divided into two pages - "listed by author" (the original page) and "listed by pairing" (the new page that Rinoa created). *Snuzzles Rinoa* To toggle between the two pages, just hit the "Listed by" button. I need to do a bit more work on both pages - that'll happen in the next update.

    • Elf Asato's fic "Yuuzai" has been given a makeover to make it easier to read.  The bold white and red text on black wasn't one of my better layout ideas! ^^;;

    • Procrastination in action - KatCom now has it's own favicon!   For those who don't know what I'm on about, it's the little purple "K" logo which replaces the default browser icon in the address bar on the splash page and which will appear on your favourites list if you bookmark any page on the site.

  • Penny Paperbrain’s “White Night” has been added to the fanfiction section.
  • Bonnejeanne and Laekin’s “The Doll” was added to the fanfiction section a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to put an update telling people about it at the time. ^^;;
  • The first three chapters of Lady Jade’s “Crying in the Dark” added to the fanfiction section.   This story is a continuation of “Dance Partners”
  • Starza’s “Dream”, the sequel to “Illusions” has been added to the fanfiction section.
  • Majinkarp’s “Asato Tsuzuki: Portrait of Guilt” has been added to the Features section.  This essay is the winning entry from the Puppy_Shinigami Tsuzuki essay contest.
  • Also by Majinkarp: “Forbidden Love” - an amusing Tsuzuki spamfic.   This can be found in Whatever.
  • The first two chapters of Katsue’s “The Other Side” have been added to the Fanfiction section.
  • Chibi-Fox’s profile has been added to the About Us section.   Chibi-Fox is our 14 year old design assistant, and no, he doesn't read the stories!   He asks me for a summary and then designs the layout. And in case you're wondering, yeah, he's family!

  • Yay! We have not one but three new authors for KatCom this update!
  • Scribblemoose’s “Devastation” has been added to the fanfiction section.   Apologies that the background is a little slow in loading, and should you wonder what the picture is, it's a composite of Tokyo during the air-raids and Nagasaki after it was bombed.   The background was designed by Chibi-Fox who also designed the layout for Starza’s fic, “Illusions”.
  • Kireira’s “A Wing Short of Flying” added to the fanfiction section.
  • Kimmy’s “Nocturnal Emissions” added to the fanfiction section.
  • Penny Paperbrain’s bizarre and very entertaining spamfics “I am become Rug Doctor, Cleaner of Carpets” and “I am become Doll Collector” uploaded to Whatever.
  • Following the discovery that KatCom's "Enter" page was telling some people that they need to install Vector Graphic Rendering, I decide to make a new seasonally appropriate splash page.   Apologies if the background is a little slow to load - if this proves problematic, I'll redesign it.
  • More updates coming soon, including a Tsuzuki essay from Majinkarp and fics from myself and Lady Jade.   Will get the new image gallery done when I can sort out a few problems I'm having with the scanner!

  • Laekin’s “A Snowball in Meifu”, a Gray Knight side-fic added to the fanfiction section.  Yes, I know it's not the next in the running order, but it can be read without giving spoilers for any later parts of the series. The reason for uploading it now is that Joni Quest sent us the fanart she drew for it.
  • A new author for KatCom! Amy the Evitable’s “Prelude to A Flush in Hearts” added to the fanfiction section.
  • Starza’s “Illusions” added to Whatever. Yeah, I know it merits a more prominent home than this - I will probably create a small archive especially for lower-rated fics in the near future!
  • Joni Quest’s fanart for Laekin’s Gray Knight series added to the images section.
  • Gift fanart from Holli the Genet added to the images section.
  • More updates due soon, including a proper image gallery, a couple of Penny-fics and an attempt to prevent the "Enter" page from telling people they need to install Vector Graphic Rendering.

  • Much reorganization!  Three new sections have been added to Katcom - ‘YnM Info’, ‘Puzzles’ and ‘Whatever’. ‘Big Pics’ has been renamed ‘Images’ because it's more relevant and sounds less naff.
  • About the new sections:
    ‘YnM Info’ is self-explanatory - yes, I thought it was high time we had on-site information about Yami no Matsuei!
    Introduction - written by Penny.
    Character guide - written by me. It's mainly a who's-who for new fans, and low on spoilers.
    Shinigami Map - drawn by me. I'm also responsible for any incomprehensible explanations!
    ‘Puzzles’ is home to:
    Jigsaws - which previously had their own section.
    Slider Puzzles - brand new!
    ‘Whatever’ - this is where the goodies that don't fit into any other current category go. So far we have:
    Yami no Word Art - moved from the Images section.
    Yami no Matsuei Windows icons - 3 sets of downloadable icons.
    Mary Sues no Matsuei - much hilarity involving mpregs and new Mary Sues. Written by Penny and Laekin, with an addition from Erin.
  • ‘Shattered’, Laekin’s next installment in the ‘Gray Knight’ series added to the fanfiction section.
  • Two new pics added to the Images section - fanart from Erin; and Negative Meifu, a screencap with a difference.
  • Links added and updated - the new links are to Sleeps With Coyotes' fanfiction and to Selah's YnM fanfiction.

  • We’ve moved!   Evil Asian Genius offered to host us on Squidkitty, and I’ve finally moved all the files across!  *Snuggles Eag*
  • Warning on the splash page has been re-worded to make the contents abundantly clear and to deter casual surfers and wide-eyed innocents from wandering in and being totally offended.
  • All NC-17 fics have now sprouted little pop-up boxes that require you to declare that you're old enough to read them before you can access them. This is nowhere near as obnoxious or complicated as it sounds. It's the same device as AdultFanFiction.Net use for their NC-17 fics. The reason for this is that a couple of contributors expressed concern over the legal situation and don't wish to be sued by irate parents.
  • The introductory ramble on the Fanfiction main page now mentions Starza's role in the archive's history.
  • Rinoa’s “Breakfast in Bed”, “Office Overtime” and “Prevaricating” all uploaded to the Fanfiction section. (I was *drooling* when I re-read these fics as I was uploading them!)
  • Sailor Mac’s “Kyoto Epilogue” uploaded to the Fanfiction section.   *More Kat-drooling*!
  • Laekin's excellent piece about Watari's character has been uploaded to the Features section.
  • Brand new eye-catchingly bright hit-counter added to the Contents page, set to 003167, the number of hits we had on the Angelfire site to date.
  • The pictures section now has a new and easier-to-read-text-on background, and pics now open in new windows.
  • Site URL amended on the Yami no Matsuei Fanworks WebRing
  • More links added - Bleeding Moon, Digital Tsuzuki, Apologeia (Unapologetic's livejournal community) and Puppy Love (livejournal Tsuzuki fan-community, maintained by myself, Starza and Rinoa).
